ECN Music is proud to collaborate with an exceptional lineup of British artists featured at the prestigious 2025 jazzahead! trade fair and festival in Bremen, Germany. Showcasing their talent on the international stage, these artists represent the very best of contemporary jazz, pushing creative boundaries while staying deeply rooted in the rich tradition of the genre. We’re thrilled to be working alongside them as they take part in one of the genre’s most important global gatherings. Their presence at jazzahead! is a testament to their artistry and continued impact on the international jazz scene.

Tim Garland’s Lighthouse Trio

Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Tim Garland, a leading figure in contemporary jazz, will perform with his acclaimed Lighthouse Trio featuring Gwilym Simcock and Asaf Sirkis. The performance will feature music from their latest album, Moment of Departure, released last year on Ubuntu Music, as well as brand-new compositions showcasing Garland’s mezzo soprano saxophone—one of only 19 in existence.

Rebecca Nash’s Aurum – Part of UK CLUBNIGHT

With a firmly established reputation as a pianist and composer in the UK jazz scene, pianist and composer Rebecca Nash is gaining international recognition for her distinctive sound, rich in artistry and emotion. Her new piano trio, Aurum, featuring Danish bassist Henrik Jensen and British drummer Dave Smith, will present an evocative musical journey inspired by the legendary Merchant Royal—a 400-year-old sunken ship, still undiscovered off the coast of Cornwall, rumoured to hold the greatest lost treasure at sea. This imaginative performance reinterprets the tale of a diver’s relentless quest to find the treasure.

Mark Kavuma & The Banger Factory – part of UK CLUBNIGHT

For over a decade, composer, trumpeter, bandleader, and label owner Mark Kavuma has been at the forefront of London’s thriving nu-jazz scene, bringing infectious energy and innovation to audiences worldwide. At jazzahead!, he will present music from his latest album Magnum Opus (Banger Factory Records)**, featuring members of The Banger Factory—an ensemble known for their dynamic, high-energy performances.

The event and live music at the Bremer Shakespeare Company is curated by English promoter Peter Conway as part of the official ‘Jazz from England’ representation. The clubnight will also feature Jo Harrop. English jazz artist Henry Spencer will present a showcase as part of the official jazzahead! showcase programme.
