Superlocrian is one of the UK’s finest chamber jazz ensembles.

Led by highly-regarded composer and arranger Sam Massey, the ensemble is renowned for its high-quality performances of exciting arrangements and brand new compositions.

Musical Director Sam Massey is a highly celebrated composer, arranger and trumpet player based in the South West of England.

As a composer/arranger, his work is well regarded and has been performed by leading chamber ensembles formed with members of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, John Wilson Orchestra and Welsh National Opera Orchestra, along with pop artists such as PP Arnold, Ocean Colour Scene and Steve Cradock.

As a trumpet player, he has performed alongside Clare Teal, Mike Westbrook, Eliza Carthy, Paul Weller and Ocean Colour Scene and been lucky enough to play at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Kings Place Hall One and the Welsh Millennium Centre.
